Get Unstuck

Have you ever felt as if you were stuck? I’ll be honest, there have been times when I felt as if I was not going anywhere. I’ve tried everything. I read all the books. I listened to all the motivational speeches, Ted Talks, and yet I could not move forward. I found out that an Old Testament Prophet named Micah had a similar situation.

Called to Move

Think about it, this man was relaxing at his house. He might have been scrolling through social media. When he received a word, and that word is to arise.

“Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.” Micah 6:1

I’ve learned, that you have to arise. What does arise mean? That means to get up and go. To arise indicates that a person has to go from one point to another.

The issue comes when we are too comfortable to move. Much less move to do something. All I want to do is relax. You get a phone call, or a text requiring you to do something that you did not plan on doing.

Arise
Get up!

What would your response be? I know what mine would be.

I just got home.
I just got back from school.
I just put everything down.
I took off work.
I don’t want to deal with anybody.
I got a bad news.

Let’s be honest. We don’t want to arise. At times we don’t want to work. We don’t want to pray. (I guess that’s just me.)

We want it already fixed. We want it already done, and all we want to do is show up. I’ll be honest, every now and then all I want to do is get in that bed. Sit on that couch and do nothing!

Called to Motion

God is telling us to arise. This is a call to action. Move and put things in motion to better the world around us. It’s not passive, this word is an action. Arise that is to stand up, dust yourself off, and keep going. I realized, to move is one thing but to have motion is another. Arise means to get up, stand up, and do something about it.

I am reminded of a time when Jesus had to deal with somebody who had a condition and all he did was lay down. The man laid by the pool of Bethesda:

“When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” (John 5:6 KJV)

He responded by saying:

“I have no one to help me into the pool…” (John 5:7)

He didn’t ask about your excuse. The question is, “Do you want to get well?” The bible then moves into action Jesus said “Rise”

Called to the Moment

Yes, there are problems. Yes, there are issues all around us. To be the change agent. The important piece to the puzzle. Arise and meet the challenge! I had to get out of my own way.

Arise
Proceed

Right now, you are called to move, called to motion, and called to the moment. You are the one that will change the world around you!!! Talk to you later.
